  In 1996 this elegant 1885-87 French dress, shown on a C series Steiner, won a blue ribbon and Best of Catagory in The Doll Costumer's Guild Chicago-area competition. The same dress, with hat, underclothes, shoes and socks, went on to win Expert Class First Place in the 1997 national competition of The Doll Costumer's Guild of America.  
The coveted "Millie," awarded by the Doll Artisan Guild, was captured in 1992 by this Tete Jumeau in an 1875 French costume.
The doll was made by
Jack Merkel and costumed by Cindy.
 
 
 
 
A perky German costume, authentic to 1890-1910 and shown on a Kestner 14, won a blue ribbon in the 1995 Doll Makers' Congress costume competition in Little Rock, Arkansas.
 
A full period winter ensemble of coat, hat, cape, leggings, muff and dress, shown on a Long Face (Triste) Jumeau , won a blue ribbon and Best of Show (costuming category) Rosette in the Chicago Metro Doll Show, 1992.
